BECOME A
TRUCKER AGAINST TRAFFICKING!
There are many people getting involved in the fight against Human Trafficking. There are also many people who have questions as to how to get involved and why they should get involved!
Many of us have long had the attitude that prostitution is a “victimless” crime and have been conditioned to think that those involved have chosen this path and like it. We think they may be sex addicts, drug addicts or just like the money and never thought that they are actually VICTIMS.
Don’t believe me?
Embarrassed to admit you were wrong?
Want to help but don’t know how?
Here are a few simple steps YOU can take to get involved in the fight against Human trafficking and how You can make a difference and possibly save lives!
#1. Watch the training video. click here to watch video
Watching the video will open your eyes to the problem and help you to understand how people become victims. It will also help you to realize that’s it’s a bigger problem that you EVER imagined.
#2 Become a TRUCKER AGAINST TRAFFICKING!
Request a poster and some wallet cards. Laminate the poster and place it in your windshield when parked. Read the card thoroughly and know what to say. Give the cards to drivers, truck stop employees, rest area employees and others as you explain to them what T.A.T. is all about.
#3 Be observant and call the national hotline when you witness suspected victims of trafficking, especially if they are underage! 888-373-7888
I have heard from many drivers how they stay away from truck stops that are known for illegal activity. Stop doing this!! You can’t help the fight by avoiding these places! Don’t you think that the owners of the truck stops would like to have your business back and have some extra eyes on their property to help stop the problem! You know they would appreciate it.
The truck stops need your help. The rest areas need your help and the victims need YOUR help. You can’t help by hiding in a shopping center parking lot!! You must get involved to make a difference! We don’t expect you to physically get involved!! All you have to do is tell others and when you see a problem, make a phone call and let the authorities do the rest.
The more Truckers that get involved, the more Victims we can save!

Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT)
Truckers Against Trafficking engages the trucking industry in the fight against child sex trafficking and exploitation. This initiative exists to inspire and enlist the over 3 million US truckers to become watchmen/woman for trafficked children along the US highways and truck stops. The media is paired with training materials and wallet cards for the truckers. The media is featured by trucking companies, safety directors, at driving schools, trucking shows and expos, etc.
National hot-line is 1-888-373-7888. truckersagainsttrafficking.com
TAT is a collaborative initiative between the trucking industry, chapter61.com, and iEmpathize.org. It is not a program of the FBI.

Stumblefoot,
It is not our intention to place blame on the trucking industry at all. We believed from the beginning that if truckers knew that these girls were out there by force, they would do something to help. That is why we started TAT. Now, there have been truckers who have transported trafficking victims, but we believe they are the exception and NOT the rule. We know there are some truckers who use these girls, but again we know most don’t. We are talking to the ones who don’t and asking them to take the extra step by calling into the national hotline.
We do know that trafficking takes many forms and that the victims are brought to this country or transported from state to state within the country in many different ways. TAT is trucking industry specific. We seek to educate and engage the trucking industry to end trafficking where it directly affects them….the underage prostitutes at the truck stops, rest areas and surrounding motels/hotels.
Our message is and will continue to be: Truckers can be heroes. Make the call, save a life.
I think that child trafficking and exploitation is terrible, what I don’t care for is the way they make it sound like its the trucking industry fault. That truck drivers are the ones exploiting the kids and transporting them. The fact is most are moved by rental passenger vans, or in worse cases rental vans, which are never checked by DOT or State or local police. The prostitution is done in motels, most by appointment. The photographs and exploitation, does anyone really think a truck driver does this? Yes we can be the eyes and ears, but don’t blame us for the problem.
I don’t think that any blame is being placed on us truck drivers, however, you have to admit that there are some that still solicit the services of prostitutes. If the business wasn’t there, they wouldn’t be peddling the goods! Putting this asside now, Truckers see more than the general public. We are in areas that they just don’t frequent. if we are armed with information and a way to report suspicious activity, we can become part of the solution. I believe that many of us have gone for so long, believing that these girls are just pesty little slutty trouble makers on drugs and haven’t ever thought that they were there by force. Now that we are being educated about this, and realize that most are actually under age kids that are being threatened and coherced, we can look at them as victims rather than criminals. The trucking community can make such a big difference so let’s do it!!!
