First of all, we would like to thank everyone who congratulated us on the completion of our lease purchase with JB HUNT. This was a 36 month program that we completed with no balloon at the end. We should point out though, that there is a small balloon for some.
It was not only a great experience, it was quite a challenge. However, having been successful owner operators prior to entering this program, helped us to understand the workings of the trucking industry.
Many drivers do not know the basic rules of trucking or what to expect as an owner operator or a lease purchase operator. There weren’t too many surprises during our time on the lp program and it was relatively easy to navigate. Lots of folks have tried the program and many have failed at it. This is not to take away from those folks that didn’t make it because the program is not for everyone. We just happened to fit the program and the company we are with. We believe there is something out there for everyone and having the tools and knowledge to succeed is the key! For example, we have met successful lease drivers from other companies and we too tried another program at a different company, decided it wasn’t for us and left. Other drivers from that same company have tried the program at JB but didn’t like it. Now we are both happy with who we are with.
As we said earlier, the key to succeeding to any program is information and support. For those who may be
considering a lease or lease purchase program, arm yourself with knowledge. Find others that have been successful at the program you are looking at and find out how they did it.
Our intent, now that we have successfully complete the Lease purchase program at JB HUNT, is to share what we have learned and help others succeed as well.
Many people do not like programs such as the one we just completed. We are here to say that as long as they exist, there will be people giving these programs a try. Discouraging others from their dream or labeling them as suckers is no way to support a fellow driver. So rather than doing the aforementioned, help these drivers find others that have been successful. This will provide them with support. Remember drivers, stay away from the complainers. Gravitate toward the others that are successful and learn from them. You can’t really learn success from those who do nothing but complain. Keep a positive attitude and look at toward the goal or prize. This will help you through the tough times.
Thanks for reading and following our adventures. We appreciate all of you!
